Aspen prohibits use of gas-powered leaf blowers. The city adopted the ban in 2003 and permits electric blowers.

Colorado state government
From June 1 through August 31, Colorado state agencies may not use gas-powered handheld and push lawn and garden equipment under 25 horsepower. In the designated ozone nonattainment area, a similar restriction applies to local and federal government equipment under 10 horsepower. The rule also covers contractors working for these governments; exceptions include emergencies and certain land-management activities. It does not prohibit ordinary private use.
